CREATIVE ENRICHMENT CLASSES

Students learn basic kitchen safety and work together to make many different fun (and delicious) foods and baked goods. While the Youth Arts kitchen is a nut-free facility, we do not have an allergy-free certified kitchen. Please contact our office before signing up for this class if your student has any food allergies.
Students develop sophisticated typographic and image-making skill sets working across both emerging, digital Adobe Programs, Photoshop and Illustrator along with traditional media-everything from self-portraits, logo making, t-shirt design and packaging to spatial experiences-to create emotionally resonant images. Guaranteed to be fun!!!
This class is for sewing beginners as they learn how to use a sewing machine, basic techniques, and work on a small project.
Learn how to explore your imagination, express your thoughts, and move the emotions of your readers. Students will be given time to write in a quiet environment, learn writing techniques best suited to the types of stories they want to tell, and receive constructive advice on the work they produce.
Interested in tech, theater, or the magic of lighting? This is the class for you! This fun and very technical class will engage students with the fundamentals of theatrical entertainment lighting. They will learn how to use industry-leading professional lighting consoles, theater lighting instruments, and how to program lighting sequences for on-stage action. This class also features small units in stage terminologies, running a theatrical crew, light plots, and other various technical theater aspects!
Students will learn the ins and outs of producing a video from its conception to its completion. Students in the Video Editing class will often edit the work of the Video Production class, however, students are encouraged to take both classes for an entirely immersive experience.
Students will be trained in editing videos with Adobe Premiere Pro. They will learn basic timeline assembly to effectively export a finalized video. Students will have a chance to explore both their creativity and the fascinating world around them. They will do crafts, experiments, art, and other fun projects in this STEAM class. Projects can include salt crystals and sugar crystals, paper airplanes, bridge building, corn husk dolls, & much more!
